Group and Private Swim Lessons @ The Club for Fitness

The Club is offering several options for their upcoming 4-week group lesson session May 27th – June 23rd. They have three groups for your little swimmer to be placed based off of in-water experience:

Froggies: Typically 3-5 year olds with some in water experience. The curriculum focus is getting them water safe, which includes being comfortable with their face in the water, floating on their back, bubble blowing, and limited underwater exploration. The participants are not allowed to wear a life vest during classes.

Sea Otters: Successful completion of the Froggies class or an instructor’s recommendation. The Sea Otters expand on the Froggy curriculum by extending their float ability to include flipping from their back to chest freely, extended underwater exploration, introduction of Freestyle and Backstroke, and free swimming without relying on a life vest. Their curriculum is a balance between solidifying their water safety skills and introducing stroke instruction.

Dolphins: Successful completion of the Sea Otters class or an instructor’s recommendation. The curriculum for the Dolphins transitions from a focus of water safety to solely stroke instruction as their begin to learn techniques of all four strokes and are introduced to swim sets. When done with their Dolphin curriculum, participants will be ready to join the Humboldt Swim Club when they have their next tryout.
